When Pottermore first came out, I got sorted into Ravenclaw. Surprise, Surprise but to be honest, I thought the answers to the questions were a bit obvious as to which house you would be sorted in. Like, omg what do you value most?
a. Wisdom
b. Bravery
c. Cunning
d. Kindness
Like that’s pretty obvious which house you would be sorted in. It’s not like I would choose wisdom and be sorted into Slytherin, you know what I’m saying?
Well, it’s just been announced that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be released in book form this year! To be honest, I have mixed feelings about this since JK Rowling is not the only one writing it and tbh I already thought I got closure with Harry Potter and I’m worried it won’t have the same tone as the first seven books not that it necessarily should but I mean in the summary, it describes Harry as an overworked employee of the Minister of Magic which sounds really depressing lol
But whatever, I thought I’d try the Sorting quiz again since they did change it from the old one and see which house I get in. Let’s see if I remain a Ravenclaw..
BEGIN THE EXPERIENCE. Rubs hands together
I’m definitely a night person; night is where I have all my existential crises and I hate waking up early so dusk all the way.
The other answer choices were:
- The fat red toadstools that seem to be talking to each other.
- The bubbling pool, in the depths of which something luminous is swirling.
- The statue of an old wizard with a strangely twinkling eye .
Ok, the apples might be poisonous so let’s not choose that. The statue of the old wizard doesn’t sound that interesting, unless it opens up a portal to a secret room. The pool sounds interesting but I mean what can I do, dive into the pool and seek out the luminous swirling?? No, but eavesdropping on the red toadstools sounds fun so I’m going with that. I’m overthinking this aren’t I??
The other answer choices:
The power of invisibility |
The power of superhuman strength |
The power to speak to animals |
The power to change the past |
The power to change your appearance at will |
- The only time I see myself needing superhuman strength is to impress people at the gym so don’t need that.
- I don’t really care about speaking to animals so no.
- I’d probably end up causing World War III if I were allowed to change the past so no thanks
- I don’t know when I would necessarily want to change my appearance at will unless I was going someplace fancy and I wanted to look extra nice
- So I guess the power to read minds??
The other answer choices:
The Wise |
The Good |
The Bold |
The Great |
- Good makes it seem like I’m a saint so no.
- I should probably root for The Wise but idk..
- I guess, I’ll go with The Great..cause that sounds epic
The other answer choices:
Draw your wand and stand your ground? |
Withdraw into the shadows to await developments, while mentally reviewing the most appropriate defensive and offensive spells, should trouble occur?
Proceed with caution, keeping one hand on your concealed wand and an eye out for any disturbance? |
- UH, none of these. I’m a wimp so I’ll probably retreat in the shadows but I would be too scared to be reviewing spells in my head
- I guess I’ll withdraw into the shadows.
- I feel like girls and guys would answer this question really differently because girls walking the streets sadly enough would be a lot more scared than guys walking the streets..
The other answers:
- Siamese cat
- Ginger cat
- Black cat
- White cat
- Tawny owl
- Screech owl
- Brown owl
- Snowy owl
- Barn one
- Common Toad
- Natterjack toad
- Dragon toad
- Harlequin toad
- Ok first of all, wtf is a natterjack toad??
- Oh, it looks this:
- Oh, the Harlequin toad looks like it’s ready to go to a rave LOL
- Anyways, snowy owl all the way :3 Plus it can deliver mail and is independent. I don’t need to feed it or wash it.
Black like my soul
WTFFF, NO WAY.
Ok there’s nothing wrong with being Slytherin but I just feel like I don’t have the qualities of a Slytherin. I’m not particularly ambitious or cunning or resourceful or shrewd. I guess I’m pretty determined.
I’m confused. Excuse me while I go have an identity crisis. In all honesty though, I thought being sorted into Slytherin was a bad thing for the longest time when it really shouldn’t be. It’s only when we use these traits at their worst that they become bad much like bravery isn’t always good.
What house are you sorted in and what kinds of questions did you answer on the Pottermore quiz?
